FSU's Alison Chesterfield Recognized As GLIAC Soccer Defensive Player Of Week

Big Rapids, Mich. - For the third time this season, Ferris State University senior goalkeeper Alison Chesterfield (South Elgin, Ill.) has been recognized as the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) Women's Soccer Defensive Player of the Week.

Chesterfield led the Bulldogs to a 4-0 shutout win over Northwood in non-league action on Sunday (Nov. 3) in Midland. She played all 90 minutes in net and recorded the shutout victory with seven saves in the first of back-to-back matchups against the Timberwolves.

The shutout was her fourth of the year and enabled the Bulldogs to notch their school single-season record 11th shutout this campaign.

Ferris State is set for a rematch with the Northwood Timberwolves on Friday (Nov. 8) at the Bulldog Soccer Field in GLIAC play with kickoff set for 1 p.m. (ET) to wrap up the regular season.

The GLIAC Tournament begins with quarterfinal-round action on Sunday (Nov. 10) with the top four teams hosting first-round action.
