Ferris State Notches Season-Opening Road Win At Parkside

Big Rapids, Mich. - The Ferris State University women's soccer squad recorded a 1-0 season-opening win over Parkside on Friday (March 19) in Kenosha, Wis.

The Bulldogs tallied the game's only goal on a marker from Emily Mergener at 9:50 of the opening half. The goal was assisted by Mackenzie Dawes and Gabrielle Teodorescu.

Ferris State outshot Parkside 20-5 for the contest, including a 11-3 margin in the opening half, en route to the win.

The Bulldogs' Taryn Meise notched the win in net as she played all 90 minutes of the contest.

Parkside's Izzy Guyer took the loss, allowing a goal with 10 saves in 90 minutes of work.

Ferris State also held an 8-0 edge in corner kick tries.

The Bulldogs will visit Purdue Northwest on Sunday (March 21) for a 1 p.m. (ET) league tilt in Hammond, Ind.
