Two Ferris State Soccer Players Earn GLIAC All-Tournament Team Honors
Big Rapids, Mich. - A pair of Ferris State University women's soccer players have been named to the 2021 Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) All-Tournament Team after helping lead FSU to the league tournament semifinals this past weekend.
FSU senior midfielder Gabrielle Teodorescu (Canton/Salem) and junior defender Nikki May (Brownstown) were both among the 10 individuals tabbed to the all-tourney team following the conclusion of the league tournament hosted by top-seeded Ferris State at the Bulldog Soccer Field.
Both Teodorescu and May helped league regular-season champion Ferris State beat eighth-seeded Saginaw Valley State 3-0 in last Tuesday's quarterfinal round before a 1-0 setback to eventual tournament champion Grand Valley State in a tightly-contested semifinal matchup on Friday (April 30) in Big Rapids.
The duo helped FSU capture the school's first regular-season championship in program history this spring with the Bulldogs finishing the year with a 8-1-1 overall record. Ferris State gave up only two goals over the course of the season, including only a single goal in regular-season action when FSU was the only team in the GLIAC to finish with an unblemished record.
