Bulldogs Pepper Oilers But Fall In Opener

Big Rapids, Mich. - The nationally #17 ranked Ferris State Women's soccer team fell 1-0 to the nationally #24 ranked Findlay Oilers in non-conference action on Thursday (Sept. 2) at the Bulldog Soccer Field.

Ferris State had 14 corner attempts, and held Findlay to 0, while out-attempting the Oilers 30-8 on the day, but Madison Misna made the difference on a free kick at 76:04 for the 1-0 Final.

A physical game that saw 22 fouls and a pair of yellow cards, Ferris State had an 8-2 edge as well in shots on goal.

For the Oilers, Kennedy Slovak made eight saves for the shutout victory. Ferris State freshman keeper Darya Mossallaei took the loss and made one stop on the afternoon.

Ferris State juniors Katie Nestico and Nikki May each had two shots on goal, while junior Isabella Zamborini attempted seven shots for Ferris State.

The Bulldogs return home to host the Lindenwood Lions in non-conference action on Saturday (Sept. 4) at 1 pm at the Bulldog Soccer Field.
