Big Rapids, Mich. - The nationally #24 ranked Ferris State University women's soccer team dominated in the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Conference (GLIAC) Quarterfinal round with a 5-0 victory over the Davenport Panthers on Tuesday (Nov. 9) at FSU's South Athletic Complex.

In goal, freshman keeper Darya Mosallaei made two saves to tie the all-time school record for single-season shutouts (9) with Grace Kraft (2016).

Senior Grace VerHage had a five-point outing with a pair of goals and an assist on the day, while junior Isabella Zamborini added a pair of goals.

The Bulldogs jumped in front early when Zamborini took a shot that was partially blocked off a Davenport defender. The redirect beat DU goaltender Gabriana Bennecke for a 1-0 lead at just 37 seconds of the contest for her sixth goal of the year. Junior Nikki May picked up her seventh assist of the year on the play.

Ferris State would triple its lead in short succession early in the first half. First, at 16:11, Rogers punched in her career-best 10th goal of the season from May (8) for a 2-0 Bulldog edge.

Theon, only 1:09 later, VerHage got in and beat Bennecke for her team-leading 12th goal of the campaign for a 3-0 Bulldog lead. Sophomore Jessie Bandyk earned her second helper of the year on the play.

Midway through the second half, VerHage redirected a service from senior Pia Nagel off her head and in for her 13th goal of the year and second of the day at 64:01. Nagel earned her fifth helper of the year on the goal.

The Bulldogs capped the scoring at 71:01 when Zamborini finished after a battle in the box for her seventh goal of the year and second of the day. Rogers (3) and VerHage (9) earned assists on the goal.

VerHage's five-point date halved her chase to break the school's all-time single-season point scoring mark. Her 35 points are tied for fourth-most in a single year all-time (Heather O'Keefe - 2007). She is four points away from tying Kristie Smilanich's all-time mark (2006) of 39 single-season points.

The Bulldogs outshot the Panthers 29-7 on the day with a 14-2 advantage in shots on goal. Bennecke made nine stops in the loss for Davenpoort. Ferris State attempted six corner tries and limited Davenport to just one.

With the win, second-seded Ferris State advances to the GLIAC Semifinals in Allendale, where they'll face the third-seeded Saginaw Valley State Cardinals, who advanced with a 1-0 overtime win in their quarterfinal against the Northwood Timberwolves. The semifinal contest is slated for a 7:30 p.m. (ET) start on Friday (Nov. 12). Stay tuned to FerrisStateBulldogs.com for additional information as it becomes available.
