Big Rapids, Mich. - Four members of the Ferris State University women's soccer program have earned additional postseason recognition by being named to the Division II Conference Commissioner's Association (D2CCA) All-Midwest Region squad.

The Bulldogs' four all-region honorees included a pair of first-team choices in senior forward Grace VerHage (Otsego) along with senior midfielder Bri Rogers (Livonia) in addition to two second-choice selections in senior forward Pia Nagel (Karlsruhe, Germany) and junior defender Nikki May (Brownstown).

Overall, a total of 13 institutions had at least one student-athlete named to the 13-member first and second teams. Grand Valley State led the region five selections while Ferris State was close behind with four honorees.

The D2CCA All-Region teams are nominated and selected by the region's sports information directors.

The D2CCA encourages and promotes Division II athletics and high standards of sportsmanship as important elements of high education. The D2CCA is a key communications link among the conferences as they discuss views, policies and regulations that impact NCAA Division II athletics and works closely with the NCAA as a communications channel to NCAA Division II member colleges and universities.

The 13 members of the All-Midwest Region first team will now be placed on the national ballot for All-America consideration. The All-America teams will be released Tuesday, Dec. 7.

Together, the four Bulldog all-region choices helped lead FSU to a 15-3-4 overall record this fall, which included a second-place 9-2-4 conference mark. The Bulldogs also captured the program's first-ever GLIAC Tournament Championship, stopping GVSU's 14-year title streak, and advanced to the NCAA Division II Tournament for only the second time in program history.
