Big Rapids, Mich. - A region-best five members of the Ferris State University women's soccer squad have been named to the 2021 United Soccer Coaches All-Midwest Region Team for their performances this past fall.
FSU senior midfielder Bri Rogers (Livonia) earned All-Midwest Region First Team honors as did freshman goalkeeper Darya Mosallaei (Albuquerque, N.M.).
Additionally, the Bulldogs had three second-team all-region picks in senior defender Abigail Gilmore (Lansing), junior defender Nikki May (Brownstown) and senior forward Pia Nagel (Karlsruhe, Germany).
The United Soccer Coaches Association All-Region teams were nominated and voted on by the region's member head coaches.
Previously, the Bulldogs had four student-athletes honored as all-region choices by the Division II Conference Commissioner's Association (D2CCA) as voted on by sports information directors, including a pair of first-team selections in senior forward Grace VerHage (Otsego) and Rogers along with two second-team choices in Nagel and May.
Together, the four Bulldog all-region choices helped lead FSU to a 15-3-4 overall record this fall, which included a second-place 9-2-4 conference mark. The Bulldogs also captured the program's first-ever GLIAC Tournament Championship, stopping GVSU's 14-year title streak, and advanced to the NCAA Division II Tournament for only the second time in program history.
