Ferris State's Bri Rogers Chosen As GLIAC's Pat Riepma Postgraduate Scholarship Recipient

Big Rapids, Mich. - Big Rapids, Mich. - Ferris State University senior women's soccer standout Bri Rogers (Livonia), who concluded her Bulldog career as one of the top performers in program history, has been honored as one of the 2021-22 recipients of the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference's (GLIAC) prestigious Pat Riepma Post Graduate Scholarship.

One of two honorees this academic year, Rogers will receive a $5,000 academic scholarship from the GLIAC to help support her graduate studies. She was recognized as a recipient along with Purdue Northwest men's soccer player Raul Garrido Garcia. She becomes the second-ever Bulldog to claim the scholarship, which is named in honor of former Northwood University football coach and athletics director Pat Riepma, joining past FSU women's soccer honoree Carley Dubbert in 2019.

The GLIAC Postgraduate Scholarship is named after former Northwood University Athletic Director and head football coach Pat Riepma who passed away in July of 2015 after a lengthy and courageous battle with cancer. Pat spent over 21 years at Northwood and was the all-time winningest coach in football history as well as the long time Athletic Director. While his achievements on the field and on behalf of the athletic department are impressive, Pat will be forever remembered for the person he was. Pat was a passionate, spiritual man who inspired thousands of people even before he became sick. While Pat is gone, his mantra of "Go MAD"- Go Make a Difference, will live on.

Rogers capped off her standout soccer career at Ferris State by becoming the second Bulldog in program history to earn All-America honors. Last fall, Rogers totaled 10 goals and two assists, helping lead FSU to a 15-3-4 overall record, which included a second-place 9-2-4 conference mark. The Bulldogs also captured the program's first-ever GLIAC Tournament Championship, stopping GVSU's 14-year title streak, and advanced to the NCAA Division II Tournament for only the second time in program history.

A three-year team captain, Rogers earned First Team All-GLIAC honors in 2017, 2018, 2019 and 2021 (spring and fall). She finished her career with 28 goals scored. A United Soccer Coaches Scholar All-American (2019, 2021), a United Soccer Coaches Player of Distinction (2021) and a two-time GLIAC Commissioner's Award recipient, Rogers graduated in 2021 magna cum laude with a 3.84 grade point average, majoring in biology with a minor in Spanish. She is currently enrolled in the Ferris State College of Pharmacy, where she is developing novel anticancer drug targets.

In 2021, she received FSU's prestigious William Bouyer Award for Leadership. Rogers has served as president of the Student Athlete Advisory Committee for the past two years and has been a member of the organization for the past four years. She is also a member of the College of Pharmacy Dean's Advisory Board and the Lambda Kappa Sigma Professional Sorority.

Rogers wrapped up a stellar collegiate career by being named to two All-America teams this past season, becoming only the second All-America choice in the history of Bulldog Soccer. She was tabbed to both the United Soccer Coaches All-America and Division II Conference Commissioner's Association (D2CCA) All-America Third Teams as announced by the respective organizations. Additionally, she was chosen as a United Soccer Coaches Scholar All-American for FSU for the second time.

The Bulldog senior concluded the 2021 fall campaign with 10 goals and two assists for 22 points in 22 contests, ranking among the squad's scoring leaders. She also had a pair of game-winning goals and totaled 51 shots on the season. In her FSU career, Rogers earned GLIAC All-Academic Excellence honors four times.

During Rogers' Bulldog career, Ferris State made its first two NCAA Tournament appearances in program history and also captured both the program's first GLIAC Regular Season and Tournament Championships over her time in the program.
