FSU Women's Tennis Registers Home Win
Big Rapids, Mich. - The Ferris State University women's tennis team returned to action for the first time following fall competition and scored a 9-0 non-conference home win over Albion on Tuesday (Feb. 22) at the FSU Racquet and Fitness Center in Big Rapids.
The Bulldogs, who posted an 11-3 overall record in the fall and were 9-2 in Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) competition, took all three doubles flights and won the six singles spots in notching the victory.
Albion dropped to 2-1 overall this season with the setback under former Ferris head coach Scott Drew.
The Bulldogs claimed five of the six singles matches in straight-sets, including one by retirement at the top position. Two of the wins came by identical 6-1, 6-0 scores and the fourth and six spots in the lineup.
Ferris State will hit the court again for another non-conference home tilt on Friday (Feb. 25) as FSU hosts another Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) foe in Hope College. Match time is set for 3 p.m. (ET).
