FSU Suffers Setback In GLIAC Home Match

Big Rapids, Mich. - The Ferris State University women's tennis team dropped its regular-season Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) finale to archrival Grand Valley State on Thursday (Oct. 13) afternoon at the FSU Racquet and Fitness Center.

The visiting Lakers took an 8-1 victory in a contest that was rescheduled due to a power outage on the FSU campus on Sept. 30.

The Lakers quickly took control as they won all three doubles flights, including a pair of 8-5 wins at the second and third positions.

Ferris State's lone win of the day came in singles play where number one player Ana Jan recorded a 6-4, 6-4 victory at the top spot in the lineup.

However, GVSU won the final five singles flights to earn the victory.

The Bulldogs wrapped up league regular-season play with an 8-4 overall and league record.

FSU will take part in the 2011 GLIAC Tournament on Oct. 21-23 in Midland, Mich.
