Bulldog Women's Tennis Earns First Victory Of Year

Big Rapids, Mich. - The Ferris State University women's tennis team picked up its first victory of the 2012 campaign on Saturday (Sept. 8) as FSU topped Hillsdale by a 5-4 score in Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) action on the road.

The win was the first for new Bulldog head coach Chad Berryhill, who took over the FSU program this fall.

The Bulldogs claimed two of the three doubles flights to build a 2-1 edge heading into singles competition.  FSU then won the bottom three singles spots to pull out the win and even its mark at 1-1 overall this campaign.

Hillsdale dropped to 0-2 on the season despite picking up wins at the top three singles flights.

Newcomers Sydnie Sine and Janie Sell along with Julia Fusik were all double winners for the Bulldogs in the match.

FSU wraps up its three-match weekend road trip by visiting Findlay on Sunday (Sept. 9) for an 11 a.m. (ET) league tilt in Findlay, Ohio.
