Women's Tennis Drops League Road Match At LSSU
Big Rapids, Mich. - The Ferris State University women's tennis team came out on the short end of a 6-3 Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) decision versus Lake Superior State on Friday (Sept. 28) in Sault Ste. Marie, Mich.
The host Lakers claimed the league match at the Arbuckle Student Activity Center by winning two of the three doubles matches along with the top four singles flights.
Ferris State dropped to 6-3 overall and in league play with the setback while LSSU improved to 8-4 overall and 4-3 in the GLIAC.
FSU's lone doubles win came from the tandem of Laurence LeBlanc and Julia Fusik at the number two flight by an 8-4 score.
In addition, the Bulldogs also received singles triumphs from Janie Sell at the number five spot along with Fusik at six singles.
Two of Lake Superior State's four singles wins came in three-set matches.
Ferris State wraps up its three-match league road swing by visiting Michigan Tech on Saturday (Sept. 29) for a 10 a.m. (ET) match in Houghton, Mich.
