Ferris State Women's Tennis Picks Up Third-Straight Win In Tight Encounter

Big Rapids, Mich. - The Ferris State University women's tennis team posted its third-straight victory as the Bulldogs capped an unbeaten weekend with a 5-4 road win over the Hillsdale Chargers on Sunday (Oct. 2) in Hillsdale, Mich.

The Bulldogs won for the third time in a row by a 5-4 score as they pulled out yet another win to move to 4-2 overall and in the GLIAC this season.

The win came at Hillsdale's Mary Jane Delp Courts where FSU rebounded from a 2-1 deficit following the doubles round to pull out the league triumph. Ferris State managed to take four of the six singles matches as the Bulldogs battled back for the victory in Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) play.

FSU's lone doubles win came at the second flight where Amiena Houston and Nicole Meylor teamed up for an 8-6 victory.

Meylor was a double winner as she also recorded a straight-set singles win at the third flight. Meanwhile, Arien Kissinger, Silvia Verebes and Nicole Stay also pulled out victories in the individual round as Ferris State swept the bottom four positions in the singles lineup.

Ferris State continues a four-match league road swing on Saturday (Oct. 8) as FSU visits Findlay for a 10 a.m. (ET) league tilt in Findlay, Ohio.
