Bulldogs Advance To GLIAC Tennis Semifinals With Win Over SVSU

Big Rapids, Mich. - The Ferris State University women's tennis team advanced into the semifinals of the 2016 Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) Tournament as the fourth-seeded Bulldogs beat fifth-seeded Saginaw Valley State 5-3 late Friday (Oct. 28) night at the Greater Midland Tennis Center.

The Bulldogs trailed 2-1 following doubles play, but came back to notch wins in four of the first five completed singles positions to earn the win.

In doubles play, the FSU tandem of Sydney Berens and Arien Kissinger recorded a 8-3 victory at the third flights in the lineup.

Ferris State received straight-set singles wins from Teodora Stefanovic at first singles along with Nicole Meylor, Kissinger and Silvia Verebes at the third thru fifth flights, respectively.

With the triumph, the Bulldogs will now face top-seeded Northwood on Saturday (Oct. 29) in the semifinals starting at 3:45 p.m. (ET) in Midland. Sunday's (Oct. 30) final day of action begins at 8:15 a.m. (ET).
