Bulldog Women's Tennis Claims Second League Win In As Many Days

Big Rapids, Mich. - The Ferris State University women's tennis squad completed a two-match homestand with another win as the Bulldogs claimed their second victory in as many days with a 6-1 triumph over Purdue Northwest on Thursday (Oct. 4) evening at the FSU Racquet and Fitness Center.

The Bulldogs improved to 2-1 overall and in the GLIAC by topping the Pride, who fell to 3-4 overall and 0-4 in league action.

Ferris State swept the three doubles flights, which counted as a single point towards the team score. The Bulldogs earned 6-0 wins at both the first and third doubles positions in addition to a 6-3 win at two doubles.

In singles play, Ferris State claimed five of the six flights overall with the Pride's lone win in the match coming at the two spot. FSU picked up a pair of three-set victories along with three others in straight-sets.

FSU will be back in action this weekend as the Bulldogs head to Michigan's Upper Peninsula. Ferris State next faces Michigan Tech on Saturday (Oct. 6) at 10 a.m. (ET) in Houghton.
