FSU Closes Out Regular-Season With Shutout Road Victory To Clinch Fifth Seed For GLIAC Tourney

Big Rapids, Mich. - The Ferris State University women's soccer team closed Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) play with a dominating 7-0 shutout over Saginaw Valley State in league road action on Sunday (Oct. 21) in University Center, Mich.

With the win, the Bulldogs also secured the number five seed for the upcoming GLIAC Tournament to be held Friday thru Sunday, Oct. 26-28, in Midland.

In the win over the Cardinals, the Bulldogs secured the doubles point by claiming all three flights, including a 7-6 (7-5) decision at the number one spot.

The Bulldogs also had a big performance in the singles round where they won all six positions and pulled out three-set triumphs at both the first and second spots in the lineup.

Overall, a total of eight different players appeared in the match for the Bulldogs and factored into the final team score.

Ferris State improved to 4-5 overall and in the GLIAC with the win.

The Bulldogs will face Wayne State in the opening round of the conference tournament on Friday, Oct. 26, at the Greater Midland Tennis Center starting at 6:45 p.m. (ET) in Midland.
