Bulldog Women's Tennis Drops Match At Palm Beach Atlantic

Big Rapids, Mich. - The Ferris State University women's tennis squad continued action in Florida on Thursday (March 14) as the Bulldogs dropped a 5-2 decision to Palm Beach Atlantic at the Mitch Gornto Tennis Center in West Palm Beach, Fla.

The Bulldogs, who were playing their third match of the week against strong competition, fell behind early as the hosts earned the doubles point by taking two of the three flights. FSU's pairing of Agata Klak and Isabela Paixao were 6-1 winners at the number two position.

Ferris State came back in singles play to post a pair of wins as Paixao was a straight-set winner at the two flight and Brittany Lavenant posted a 6-4, 6-4 decision at four singles.

However, Palm Beach Atlantic managed to take the other four singles spots in straight-sets to garner the victory.

The Bulldogs dropped to 10-9 overall this season with the setback.

Ferris State closes its annual spring break trip by visiting nationally ninth-ranked Florida Southern on Friday (March 15) with match time set for 3 p.m. (ET).
