Bulldog Women's Tennis Starts Off Weekend With Win Over LSSU


Big Rapids, Mich. - The Ferris State University women's tennis squad opened weekend action with a convincing 5-2 win over Lake Superior State on Saturday (Oct. 12) morning at the FSU Racquet and Fitness Center in Big Rapids.

With the win, FSU moved to 5-1 overall and in the GLIAC this season.

The Bulldogs opened the contest with wins at the first two doubles positions and picked up a forfeit decision at the three spot as LSSU did not field a full lineup.

In singles action, Ferris State got straight-set wins from Isabela Paixao at one singles, Silvia Verebes at the fourth spot and Morgan Waller in the five singles position. Sam Stephenson was a winner at the six singles flight, which was not contested.

The Bulldogs will host Michigan Tech in GLIAC play on Sunday (Oct. 13) starting at 10 a.m. (ET).
