Women's Distance Medley Relay Earns NCAA Provisional Qualification At GLIAC Indoor Meet

Allendale, Mich. - The Ferris State University women's track team's 4000 meter distance medley relay picked up their National Provisional Qualification with a second place finish at the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) Indoor Track and Field Championships at Grand Valley State University last weekend.

The team of senior Taylor Thrush, junior Katelyn Hutchinson, junior Carissa Schurr, and senior Katie Etelamaki placed second with a time of 11:51.86, edging out host GVSU by three seconds to earn their provisional qualifier. Etelamaki, already an individual qualifier in the women's 3000 meter run, picked up her second qualifier of the meet.

Ferris State's relay team picked up eight points in the race, which was the highest total in any event for the Bulldogs at GLIAC Indoor Track and Field Championships.

NCAA Division-II Indoor Track and Field Championships commence on March 13-14 in Birmingham, Alabama.
