Ferris State Track Squads Wrap Up Action At GVSU Big Meet

Big Rapids, Mich. - The Ferris State University men's and women's indoor track and field teams sent student-athletes to the Grand Valley State Big Meet hosted in Allendale over two days on Friday and Saturday (Feb. 12-13).

One of the country's largest indoor meets, the GVSU Big Meet annually attracts participants from schools at all levels in addition to unattached competitors.

On the women's side, FSU's Claudia Wilkinson took seventh place in the 60-meter hurdles (9.99) and Allyson Faulkner placed 10th in the 400 meters (1:04.10).

In the 3,000 meters, the Bulldogs' Hannah Loucks placed fourth (10:40.72) with Katelyn Hutchinson seventh (10:44.07) and Callie Delaney eighth (10:48.25).

Wilkinson earned runner-up honors in the high jump (5-2.50) with Amanda Eslinger ninth (5-00.50) in the event.

Meanwhile, on the men's side, Ferris State's Donis Harris was seventh in the 3,000 meters (8:32.25).

Brett Robertson posted the fifth-best time in the 60-meter hurdles and also had the 10th-fastest time in the 200 meters (22.90). Ben Menapace was ninth in the 400 meters (51.82).

FSU's 4x400-meter relay squad of Robertson, Logan Reimink, Brendan Deneen and Menapace finished fifth (3:32.18).

The Bulldogs are next in action on Friday, Feb. 19, at the Saginaw Valley State Tune-Up meet in University Center, Mich.
