Ferris State's Brianna Copley Earns GLIAC Athlete Of Week Honor After School-Record Throw

Big Rapids, Mich. - After a big weekend, Ferris State University junior thrower Brianna Copley (Whitehall) has been chosen as the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) Women's Field Athlete of the Week.

Copley emerged victorious in winning the shot put and set a school record with a performance of 48-9.50 (14.87m) at the Davenport Invitational on Saturday (April 24) in Caledonia. She also won the discus at the meet with a throw of 153-5.

Her performance helped lead the Bulldogs to a big weekend which saw the FSU men's and women's teams combined for six first-place finishes and 55 top-10 event performances in two different weekend events.

Ferris State will be back in action at the Grand Valley State Invite on April 30-May 1 in Allendale, Mich.
