Ferris State Track Squads To Take Part In GLIAC Outdoor Championships This Week
Big Rapids, Mich. - The Ferris State University men's and women's outdoor track and field teams will take part in the 2021 Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) Outdoor Track and Field Championships, which take place Wednesday thru Friday (May 5-7) in Caledonia, Mich.
The annual league meet will be hosted by Davenport University at the Farmers Insurance Athletic Complex. Adult tickets are $10 per day with student tickets $3 per day. Senior citizens are $7 per day and children ages 4-7 are also $3. All children ages 3 and under are free. There will be no two-day passes available for purchase.
All ticket sales will be done in person with no pre-sale or online ticketing available. Capacity will be capped at 375 spectators in the stadium at one time. Multi events kick things off on Wednesday while field and running events start Thursday with preliminary heats. Champions will be crowned following finals races on Friday.
Each league member school will take part in one of the most highly anticipated NCAA Division II meets throughout the country.
The GLIAC meet begins at 1:30 p.m. (ET) on Wednesday with the start of the men's 100 meters in the multi-events. The bulk of the events kick off on Thursday with the competition beginning at 2:30 p.m.
The third and final day of action is on Friday with field events beginning at 11 a.m. followed by track events starting at 11:15 a.m.
Scoring in the meet will be on a 10-8-6-5-4-3-2-1 for eight places for individuals and relay events.
