Ferris State Track Squads Wrap Up Action At 2021 GLIAC Outdoor Championships

Big Rapids, Mich. - The Ferris State University men's and women's outdoor track and field squads concluded action in the 2021 Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) Championships on Friday (May 7) at the Farmers Insurance Athletic Complex in Caledonia.

The Bulldogs finished the two-day event in eighth place on the men's side with 20 points along with seventh in the women's competition with 23.50 points.

In women's action, Ferris State's Brianna Copley placed third in the shot put (14.09m), reaching the NCAA Division II National Provisional qualifying mark. 

Copley also finished fifth in the discus (41.65m) with Emma Stephayn coming in sixth (41.31m) in the same event.

The Bulldogs' Claudia Wilkinson captured sixth place in the high jump (1.58m) with Amanda Eslinger finishing eighth (1.53m).

FSU's Allyson Faulkner placed eighth in the 400-meter hurdles (1:07.19).

The Bulldogs' Kylie Hutchinson came in ninth in the 5,000 meters (18:42.74) with Sydney Kubiak 10th (18:49.59).

The Bulldogs also placed 10th in the women's 4x400-meter relay (4:16.61).

Meanwhile, on the men's side, the Bulldogs' Brett Robertson took fifth place in the 400-meter hurdles (54.26). Trevor Roznowski was seventh in the discus (47.14m).

Ben Menapace took eighth place in the 400 meters (50.84). FSU's Donis Harris finished eighth in the 5,000 meters (14:52.41).

Forrest Akers was 13th in the shot put (13.58m).

The Bulldogs' men's squad of Menapace, Brenden Deneen, Ethan Hamilton and Robertson also placed fifth overall (3:24.54).

The Bulldogs will have selected student-athletes competing at the Grand Valley State Last Chance event on May 11-12 in Allendale.
