#22 Ferris State Rolls Past Northwood On The Road For Fifth-Straight Victory

Big Rapids, Mich. - The Ferris State University women's volleyball squad, ranked 22nd in the nation, rolled to its fifth-straight victory with a convincing 3-0 sweep over the Northwood Timberwolves on Saturday (Nov. 1) at the Bennett Sports Center in Midland.

The Bulldogs completed a weekend road sweep by topping the Timberwolves 25-16, 25-17, 25-19 in the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) tilt.

The win was the fifth consecutive triumph for FSU, which improved to 18-5 overall and held onto a share of first place in the GLIAC standings with a 15-1 league mark.

FSU posted a .330 attack percentage in the match and compiled 43 kills and only 10 attack errors on 100 total attempts. The Bulldogs also notched 42 digs, six aces and four service mistakes to go with four solo blocks and 10 assists blocks.

Junior Megan Vander Meer paced FSU with a match-leading 12 kills while senior Courtney Rehm also reached double-digits with 10 kills. Junior Alexis Huntey chipped in nine kills and sophomore setter Stephanie Sikorski totaled four for Ferris State.

The Bulldogs received 13 digs from junior libero Danielle Dowd in addition to eight by Sikorski, who also netted 33 assists in directing the FSU attack. Vander Meer also added eight digs and posted a team-best two aces from the service line.

Northwood compiled a .124 attack percentage with 33 kills and 20 errors on 105 attacks. The Timberwolves totaled 41 digs, two aces and three service errors while registering no blocks on the day.

Both Chelsea Watson and Krysta Kramer finished with seven kills for Northwood while Lisa Kisil compiled 14 digs and Jaclyn Kimmet recorded 19 assists.

Northwood dropped to 6-16 overall and 3-12 in the GLIAC with the setback.

The Bulldogs will return home to host Wayne State and Saginaw Valley State next weekend (Nov. 7-8) in their final two matches prior to postseason play. Friday's match against WSU gets underway at 7 p.m. (ET) with Saturday's regular-season finale versus SVSU set for 5 p.m. (ET).
