Bulldog Volleyball Stays Unbeaten In GLIAC With Road Win Over Davenport

Big Rapids, Mich. - The nationally eighth-ranked Ferris State University women's volleyball squad rolled past the Davenport Panthers 3-1 on Saturday (Sept. 16) in Grand Rapids to improve to 8-2 overall this season.

The Bulldogs won the opening frame 25-21 and the second set 25-18 before falling in the third 25-22. FSU came back to seal the victory with a 28-26 triumph in the fourth to improve to 2-0 in the GLIAC this year.

Sophomore outside hitter Allyson Cappel totaled 21 kills and 12 digs in the victory. Meanwhile, senior libero Lauren Reminga totaled 22 digs.

FSU also got 13 kills each from senior middle hitters Ayanna Buckley and Maria Kronner along with 14 digs from sophomore hitter Katie Placek. Kayla Rosman added 12 digs.

Ferris State hit .245 overall with 69 kills and finished with 84 digs to go with 12 block assists and four solo blocks. FSU also had four aces.

The Panthers received 16 kills from Krissy Dill and 11 by Jessica Marvin. DU had 49 kills and hit .158 overall while compiling 74 digs, seven aces and 20 block assists.

The Bulldogs are next in action on Tuesday (Sept. 19) as they host the Northwood Timberwolves starting at 7 p.m. (ET).
