#14 Ferris State Volleyball Races Past Rival GVSU In Friday Night Showdown

Big Rapids, Mich. - The nationally 14th-ranked Ferris State University women's volleyball squad rolled past rival Grand Valley State by a 3-1 score on Friday (Oct. 11) evening in Allendale.

The Bulldogs claimed a 25-22, 25-21, 20-25, 25-17 victory to improve to 13-3 overall this year.

Senior Allyson Cappel paced the Bulldogs with a team-high 15 kills while senior Courtney Brewer added 12 kills overall.

The Bulldogs also got 20 digs from Cappel along with 17 by libero Nina Gorgijevska and 16 by Brewer in earning the win.

Overall, FSU hit .173 and limited GVSU to a .153 hitting figure.

The Lakers were led by Ali Thompson's match-high 22 kills.

Ferris State will visit Davenport on Saturday (Oct. 12) for a 2 p.m. (ET) league encounter in Caledonia.
