Ferris State Volleyball Set For GLIAC Tourney This Weekend

Big Rapids, Mich. - The Ferris State University women's volleyball squad will open Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) Tournament action as the number four overall seed as the league's postseason event takes place this Friday thru Sunday (April 9-11) in University Center, Mich.

The Bulldogs, who received a first-round bye, will face fifth-seeded Northwood in the quarterfinals on Friday afternoon at 4 p.m. (ET). The winner will advance to the semifinals on Saturday afternoon with the championship match set for Sunday at 1 p.m.

No spectators or fans will be allowed for the conference tournament, however all matches will be streamed online. The cost of the live stream will be $11.99 per day or $19.99 for the entire tournament and links can be found at FerrisStateBulldogs.com by clicking on the volleyball schedule.

A total of 11 schools are slated to take part in the conference tournament with the top five teams garnering first-round byes. The winners of three first-round matches advance into the quarterfinals along with the top five seeds while a consolation bracket will also take place for any team eliminated in the first two rounds.

Matches will take place inside Saginaw Valley State's Ryder Center with contests slated for both O'Neill Arena and Hamilton Gym. All teams will follow established GLIAC protocols pertaining to COVID-19.

Ferris State enters the competition as the six-time defending GLIAC Tournament Champion. The Bulldogs posted a 10-4 overall record during the spring 2021 campaign.
