Bulldog Volleyball Wraps Up Tourney With Win Over Southeastern Oklahoma State

Big Rapids, Mich. - The Ferris State University women's volleyball squad concluded action at the 2021 Dakota's Patriot Classic with a 3-1 triumph over Southeastern Oklahoma State on Saturday (Sept. 11) in Tyler, Texas.

With the win, the Bulldogs finished with a 2-1 overall record in the event and are now 5-2 overall this campaign.

Ferris State earned the win after dropping the first set by a 26-24 score. The Bulldogs captured the next three sets by scores of 25-9, 25-22 and 25-20 overall.

The Bulldogs were led by Olivia Henneman-Dallape with 16 kills. Senior Katie O'Connell added 11 kills and Kira Merkle had eight for FSU. 

Additionally, libero Nina Gorgijevska finished with a match-high 30 digs. The Bulldogs' Connie LeBel compiled 17 digs with O'Connell posting 16 overall.

FSU freshman setter Kaylee Maat led the way with 46 assists while both Henneman-Dallape and Keona Salesman recorded a pair of blocks. Maat also had four aces.

Ferris State will open Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) play on the road at Northern Michigan next Friday (Sept. 17) with match time slated for 7 p.m. (ET) in Marquette, Mich.
