Bulldog Volleyball Freshman Keona Salesman Tabbed As GLIAC Player Of The Week

Big Rapids, Mich. - For the first time in her collegiate career, Ferris State University freshman outside hitter Keona Salesman (Coldwater/Bronson) has been chosen as the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) South Division Player of the Week.

Salesman had a big week for the Bulldogs, who stretched their winning streak to six consecutive GLIAC wins with a pair of road sweeps.

The Bulldog hitter totaled a team-high 26 kills to go with five digs, two blocks and an ace while posting a team-leading .333 attack figure in back-to-back wins on the road over Saginaw Valley State and Wayne State. Salesman totaled 14 kills in Friday night's victory and came back with 12 kills on Saturday, leading FSU in both contests where only six total sets were played on the weekend.

Overall, she averaged 4.33 kills and 4.7 points per set for the Bulldogs, who have now won each of their last five matches via 3-0 sweeps.

FSU will take part in the annual Midwest Region Crossover slated this weekend (Oct. 15-16) in Hammond, Ind.
