Ferris State Dominates Purdue Northwest On The Road For 15th-Straight Triumph

Big Rapids, Mich. - The Ferris State University women's volleyball squad opened its weekend road swing in impressive fashion, beating Purdue Northwest 3-0 on Friday (Nov. 5) evening in Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) play.

FSU captured its 15th consecutive victory by taking a 25-18, 25-17, 25-21 decision at the Fitness and Recreation Center in Hammond, Ind. With the win, the Bulldogs improved to 20-4 overall and 10-2 in the GLIAC.

Senior hitter Katie O'Connell fueled a balanced Bulldog effort with 12 kills and 11 digs. Meanwhile, middle hitter Kira Merkle compiled 10 kills in the win for FSU.

The Bulldogs' Kaylee Maat finished with 32 assists from the setter position while senior libero Nina Gorgijevska produced eight digs in the victory.

Overall, a total of 13 different players saw action for FSU in the road win.

The Bulldogs hit .283 overall for the match, totaling only 12 attack errors on 106 total attempts while notching 42 kills. FSU also had 42 digs, eight service aces and eight block assists along with one solo block.

Erica Brohm led Purdue Northwest with a team-high 12 kills while Alexis Wade had 14 digs. PNW fell to 2-21 overall this year with the loss.

Ferris State wraps up its weekend trip by taking on Wisconsin-Parkside on Saturday (Nov. 6) at 3 p.m. (ET) in Kenosha, Wis.
