Big Rapids, Mich. - Ferris State University opened its 2024 women's volleyball home season with a dominating 3-0 sweep over visiting Parkside on Friday (Oct. 4) evening inside Bulldog Arena.
The nation's fifth-ranked Bulldogs moved to 13-0 this year by capturing a 25-20, 25-18, 25-23 victory at home.
Senior outside hitter Olivia Henneman-Dallape recorded 16 kills in leading FSU while fellow senior Claire Nowicki added 10 kills in the win. Gabby Piazza chipped in with seven kills and the combination of senior middle hitter Chelsie Freeman along with junior middle hitter Syann Fairfield each notched six kills.
The Bulldogs' Kaylee Matt tallied 35 assists in directing the attack while she also added a team-high 11 digs on the defensive side. Emma Bleecher chipped in with seven digs and Nowicki finished with six digs.
Ferris State compiled a .479 attack figure and netted 47 kills with only two attack errors on 94 attempts. The Bulldogs also finished with 36 digs to go with 10 block assists, two solo blocks and two service aces.
Sierra Kilbourn paced Parkside with 11 kills and Marisa Lootens recorded 10 kills. Natalie Harris added 14 digs.
The Bulldogs will host Purdue Northwest on Saturday (Oct. 5) beginning at 6 p.m. (ET).
