#2 Ferris State Now 22-0 After Volleyball Road Win At Roosevelt

Big Rapids, Mich. - The nation's second-ranked Ferris State Bulldogs swept Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) newcomer Roosevelt on the road Friday (Oct. 25) evening, beating the Lakers 3-0 to stay unbeaten this season.

The Bulldogs ran their season-opening unbeaten stretch to 22-straight, which marks the best season start in program history. FSU also improved to 11-0 atop the GLIAC standings with the win at the Goodman Center in Chicago.

Ferris State took the opening set 25-12 and cruised to the victory with wins of 25-21 in the second and 25-16 in the third set while going to 22-0 this year. The record represents the country's best to date this year.

Senior setter Kaylee Maat recorded 28 assists and became the school's all-time career assists leader, topping the previous record set by Kim McDowell from 1988-91. Maat now has 5,320 career assists.

The Bulldogs finished with an impressive .354 attack percentage and tallied 38 kills with only 10 attack errors on 79 attempts. FSU also had 32 digs, 10 service aces, 10 block assists and a solo block.

Junior middle hitter Syann Fairfield led the Bulldogs with 10 kills while senior outside hitter Olivia Henneman-Dallape added eight kills in the win. FSU's Emma Bleecher had a squad-best nine digs.

Both Bleecher and Claire Nowicki had two service aces each for FSU while Corrie Wisser had a team-high three from the service line. Middle hitter Chelsie Freeman recorded three block assists with Henneman-Dallape notching two block assists and a solo block. Fairfield also had two assists at the net on the block.

The Lakers hit only .101 overall and had 27 digs with 26 kills, two block assists, two solo blocks and two aces. They finished with 18 attack errors on 79 attempts. Roosevelt dropped to 2-18 overall and 0-9 in league action with the setback.

The Bulldogs will play their next four matches at home inside Bulldog Arena, starting with next Friday's (Nov. 1) league home tilt against Wayne State that begins at 6 p.m. (ET).
