#1 Ferris State Opens Weekend With Sweep Over Northern Michigan In GLIAC Tilt

Big Rapids, Mich. - Nationally top-ranked Ferris State opened up its final regular-season home weekend with a 3-0 sweep over Northern Michigan in another key Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) match on Friday (Nov. 8) evening inside Bulldog Arena.

The Bulldogs ran their unbeaten mark to 25-0 by taking a 25-15, 26-24, 25-22 win over the Wildcats, improving to 14-0 in conference play on top of the GLIAC.

Senior Olivia Henneman-Dallape led the Bulldogs with 13 kills and seven digs while freshman Gabby Piazza tallied 10 kills in the triumph. FSU also got nine kills and 10 digs from senior Claire Nowicki along with seven kills and three blocks by senior Syann Fairfield.

FSU senior setter Kaylee Maat totaled 36 assists for Ferris State in the win and Corrie Wisser added four service aces for the Bulldogs.

The Bulldogs posted a .319 attack figure and finished with 51 digs to go with eight block assists, a solo block and seven aces. FSU had 45 kills in the contest on 94 attempts.

NMU dropped to 16-8 overall and 10-4 in the GLIAC with the setback. The Wildcats were limited to a .173 attack percentage and totaled 31 kills, 31 digs, four aces, four block assists and two solo blocks.

Jacqueline Smith led NMU with 13 kills and Allie Barlow notched 25 assists.

Ferris State will play its final regular-season home match on Saturday (Nov. 9) versus Michigan Tech starting at 5 p.m. (ET) inside Bulldog Arena. It will also be FSU's Senior Day contest with eight seniors slated to be honored prior to the tilt.
