#1 Ferris State Celebrates Senior Day By Beating Michigan Tech In A Home Sweep

Big Rapids, Mich. - Nationally top-ranked Ferris State University sent a stellar class of eight seniors out in style on Saturday (Nov. 9) night as the Bulldogs claimed a 3-0 Senior Day sweep over Michigan Tech inside Bulldog Arena.

Ferris State honored its eight seniors prior to the contest and FSU came away with a 25-19, 27-25, 25-22 win in its final regular-season home tilt of the year.

With the win, the Bulldogs also stayed unbeaten at 26-0 this year and the Bulldogs are now 15-0 in the GLIAC.

A large crowd saw Ferris State beat Michigan Tech for the second time this season as FSU completed its regular-season home campaign with a perfect 9-0 record.

In the victory, senior setter Kaylee Maat tallied 43 assists in becoming the GLIAC's all-time career assists leader.

Additionally, FSU received 21 kills and six digs from senior outside hitter Olivia Henneman-Dallape while fellow senior Claire Nowicki came up with 12 kills and eight digs. The Bulldogs also got nine kills from freshman Gabby Piazza to go with seven digs from senior libero Leah Bylut.

Overall, Ferris State posted a .339 attack percentage and finished with 53 kills to go with 43 digs, six block assists, four aces and two solo blocks.

MTU posted a .265 hitting figure and the Huskies netted 38 kills, 34 digs, eight block assists, two solo blocks and one ace.

The Bulldogs will play their final two regular-season matches on the road next week, visiting Purdue Northwest on Friday (Nov. 15) evening along with Parkside on Saturday (Nov. 16).
