#1 Ferris State Claims GLIAC Championship Outright With Road Win Over Pride

Big Rapids, Mich. - The nationally top-ranked Ferris State University women's volleyball squad captured the outright Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) Championship with a 3-0 road win over Purdue Northwest on Friday (Nov. 15) evening in Hammond, Ind.

The Bulldogs secured the league's outright crown by taking a 25-13, 25-14, 25-21 triumph in the match, opening up a two-match weekend road swing on the final weekend of conference regular-season play.

Senior Claire Nowicki led the Bulldogs with 10 kills in the outing and senior Olivia Henneman-Dallape added nine kills while senior middle hitter Chelsie Freeman finished with six kills overall.

The Bulldogs also got 25 assists from senior setter Kaylee Maat to go with nine digs by senior libero Leah Bylut and seven digs from Maat in the win. Nowicki added a team-best two solo blocks and Maat had two service aces as did Tatum Outland for FSU, which moved to 27-0 overall and 16-0 in the GLIAC.

FSU's Corrie Wisser had an impressive day at the service line with eight aces for the Bulldogs.

Ferris State managed a .410 attack percentage and the Bulldogs came up with 39 kills, 41 digs, 15 service aces and three solo blocks.

PNW finished with 29 kills, 26 digs, seven aces and two solo blocks.

The Bulldogs will visit Parkside on Saturday (Nov. 16) for their regular-season finale starting at 6 p.m. (ET) in Kenosha, Wis.
