#1 Ferris State Volleyball Advances To Regional Final For Fourth-Straight Year

Big Rapids, Mich. - The Ferris State University women's volleyball squad advanced to the NCAA Division II Midwest Regional Championship match for the fourth consecutive year as the Bulldogs beat fourth-seeded Lewis (Ill.) in a 3-0 sweep in the regional semifinals on Friday (Dec. 6) night at Bulldog Arena.

Before a near-capacity crowd, the Bulldogs rallied to win the opening set 25-21 and then dominated the next two frames, taking set two 25-12 and set three by a 25-14 score to reach the championship match.

The Bulldogs will square off against sixth-seeded Findlay, which upset second-seeded Grand Valley State in a 3-2 thriller in the regional semifinals, on Saturday (Dec. 7) evening at 6 p.m. (ET) in Big Rapids with a berth in the NCAA Division II Elite Eight and the national quarterfinals on the line.

Ferris State improved to 33-0 overall this year by beating the Flyers, who closed the year with a 23-11 overall mark.

FSU got another strong performance from regional player of the year Olivia Henneman-Dallape as the Bulldog senior outside hitter paced the attack with a match-high 11 kills. She also had four total blocks.

Meanwhile, freshman Gabby Piazza notched seven kills for the Bulldogs and senior middle hitter Chelsie Freeman had six kills to go with two block assists. The Bulldogs also got 24 assists by senior setter Kaylee Maat in addition to 15 digs from senior libero Leah Bylut and 13 digs by Maat. Both Corrie Wisser and Hannah Tecumset had two service aces each.

The Bulldogs finished with 35 kills and came up with 61 digs, seven team blocks and seven service aces overall.

On the opposite side, Lewis was limited to a .000 attack percentage as the Flyers had both 25 kills and 25 attack errors. LU posted 62 digs with three aces and three team blocks.
