Ferris State Cross Country Teams Close Out Fall Slate At NCAA Regional Championships

Big Rapids, Mich. - The Ferris State University men's and women's cross country teams both wrapped up the fall slate on Saturday (Nov. 6), competing in the NCAA Division II Midwest Regional Championships at Angel Mounds in Evansville, Ind.

In the women's race, the Bulldogs placed 19th overall with 536 total points. Meanwhile, the Bulldog men's squad finished with 560 total points in taking 22nd place overall in the large field. 

On the women's side, the Bulldogs were paced by sophomore Sydney Kubiak in 75th place. She finished with a time of 22:38.0 on the 6K course. 

Next in line for FSU was Callie Delaney in 104th place (23:10.7) with Katrina Droski finishing 108th overall (23:17.1). FSU's Hanna Brock came in 124th (23:35.5) and Daisey Englund placed 125th (23:35.9).

The Bulldogs' top seven runners also included Melanea Strauss, who finished 134th (23:47.6), and Diana Candela. She wound up 156th (24:28.8) in the race.

Ferris State was led in the men's 10K race by Donis Harris, who clocked 32:08.7 in finishing 57th overall. FSU's Noah Griffith placed 89th at 32:58.2 with Kevin Wilson 128th (33:55.8).

The Bulldogs' other two scoring runners included Dan Hardesty in 146th place (34:19.1) and Casey Bouman in 149th place (34:40.0). FSU's Brandon Wirth came in 167th (35:35.5) with Brendan Cariney rounding out the Bulldogs' top seven performers in 17th place (35:48.4).

The Midwest Regional consisted of teams from the Great Lakes Valley Conference, the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference, and the Great Midwest Athletic Conference.
