Ferris State Cross Country Squads Wrap Up Michigan State Spartan Invite

Big Rapids, Mich. - The Ferris State University men's and women's cross country squads competed against top competition on Friday (Sept. 13) as the Bulldogs ran in the Michigan State Auto-Owners Spartan Invitational in East Lansing.

The Bulldog women were led by Hanna Brock, who came in 27th overall in the 6K race as she was timed in 22:51.8. Teammate Whitney Farrell was only a spot behind in 28th place with a time of 23:00.6.

FSU's Jessica Durkee placed 51st in the field (23:40.4) with Ella Kowatch 64th (24:14.7) and Kaylee Huey 66th (24:20.7) in leading the Bulldog women's team.

In the men's 8K race, the Bulldogs were led by junior Cooper Sorsen in 39th place overall. He clocked 25:57.8 in the race.

The Bulldogs' Ryan Ososki took 60th place (26:36.7) with Gavin Vansolkema 74th (26:57.4) and Noah Griffith 80th (27:11.7) in the event. Freshman Zak Kimmel was 87th overall (27:17.4) and sophomore Ben Knuth took 92nd place (27:26.4) in the upper half of the FSU lineup.

The Bulldogs will next head back to the Lansing area on Sept. 20 for the Lansing Invite.
