Busy Weekend For Bulldog Cross Country Squads At Two Different Events

Big Rapids, Mich. - The Ferris State University men's and women's cross country squads continued preparations for the upcoming Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) Championships as FSU sent student-athletes to two different meets on Saturday (Oct. 12).

The bulk of Ferris State's top of the lineup took part in the Lewis Conference Crossover event in Romeoville, Ill. Meanwhile, other squad members were in action at the Muskegon Jayhawk Invitational in West Michigan.

Senior Hanna Brock led the women at Lewis as she came in 51st overall in a time of 22:17.90 on the 6K course. FSU's Whitney Farrell was next in line as she placed 67th overall at 22:30.20 for the race.

Overall, more than 330 runners competed in the women's field.

On the men's side, Cooper Sorsen led FSU as he placed 65th overall in the 8K event in a time of 25:00.60 overall. Ryan Ososki was Ferris State's next finisher in 136th place (25:35.30).

The Bulldogs are slated to take part in the Saginaw Valley State Invite on Friday, Oct. 18, in University Center, Mich.
