Ferris State Standout Chloe Idoni Chosen As GLIAC Commissioner's Award Recipient

Big Rapids, Mich. - Ferris State University women's basketball senior Chloe Idoni (Fenton) has added to her list of impressive accomplishments as she was chosen today as a 2024 Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) Commissioner's Award recipient for excellence.

The GLIAC announced the recipients of the Winter 2023-24 Commissioner's Awards, presented by Meijer, Inc. The awards are bestowed after the fall, winter and spring athletic seasons to six female and six male student-athletes of junior, senior or graduate student status that excel both in the classroom and in competition. All grade-point averages are based on a 4.0 scale.

Idoni led the Bulldogs to the NCAA Division II National Semifinals for the first time in program history in her final campaign. She ranked among the GLIAC and nation's best, averaging a squad-high 16.7 points along with 6.0 rebounds per game as FSU compiled a school all-time best 26-6 overall record while claiming in the NCAA D2 Midwest Region Championship for the first-time ever.

As a team captain, Idoni helped the Bulldogs knock off the nation's #1 team three different times this past season and she finished the year with 26 double-figure scoring performances, including 13 games with 20 points or more. She claimed All-GLIAC First Team honors and was also named to the GLIAC All-Defensive Team along with claiming College Sports Communicators Academic All-America accolades. Idoni was also a first-team all-region choice this past year.

Since the awards were first presented in 2007, the Bulldogs have now had a total of 85 student-athletes be recognized among the league's best, which ranks among the most of any school in the conference.
