FSU At Home For Final Regular-Season Games

Big Rapids, Mich. - The Ferris State University men's and women's basketball teams will play their final regular-season home contests this week inside FSU's Jim Wink Arena.

The Bulldogs open the two-game homestand by hosting the Northwood Timberwolves in a Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) doubleheader on Thursday (Feb. 25) night.  The women's game tips off at 6 p.m. (EST) with the men's game to follow at approximately 8 p.m. (EST).

Then, Saturday (Feb. 27), FSU squares off against Wayne State in the regular-season finale as part of "Operation Giveaway".   The women's game begins at 1 p.m. (EST) with the men's league encounter set for a 3 p.m. (EST) start. FSU students and fans will have chances to win prizes, scholarships and more during "Operation Giveaway".

Ferris State students are encouraged to come out and fill the stands on Saturday to receive a chance at one of ten $500 scholarships slated to be offered with the odds doubling by attending both the men's and women's games. Tons of other giveaways will also be awarded throughout the day and the first 500 fans will receive a rally towel.

Free transportation will be provided via charter bus from on-campus residence halls to Wink Arena during "Operation Giveway" and a new ping pong table will be given to the hall with the highest overall attendance at the event. The giveaways will also include free tanning packages for spring break, free lunches, twenty $10 gift cards courtesy of Buffalo Wild Wings, $300 worth of gift cards to be given away from Meijer and more. All fans in attendance will also receive a coupon for "Four Free Wings" compliments of Buffalo Wild Wings.

A number of promotional things for community members will also take place in conjunction with "Operation Giveaway" in an effort to help pack Wink Arena to capacity. An inflatable bounce house will be available for kids and youth basketball scrimmages will be held at halftime. Various FSU Student-Athletes will also be honored throughout the day.

Additionally, the regular-season finale also represents Ferris' annual "Senior Day" encounter with this year's Bulldog basketball seniors honored between games. Local high school and youth teams have also been invited to attend as part of "Team Appreciation Day" for their support of the Bulldogs.

Tickets for FSU Basketball home games will be sold at the door starting one hour prior to tipoff with current Ferris students admitted free by showing their student identification cards.  All children will also receive "free admission" with a paid adult on Saturday.

The Ferris State men's basketball team presently maintains a 14-11 overall record and is 12-8 in GLIAC action heading into this week's homestand.  The Bulldogs have clinched their 11th overall GLIAC Tournament berth and could potentially host a quarterfinal-round home game next Tuesday (March 2) pending the outcome of this week's league contests.

This week's games represent the final two outings of the year for the Bulldog women's team.
