Ferris State's Cole Vickers Wins D2 Men's Basketball Elite 90 Award

Big Rapids, Mich. - Ferris State University men's basketball redshirt freshman Cole Vickers (Canton) was announced on Sunday evening as the recipient of the Elite 90 award for the 2024 NCAA Division II Men's Basketball Championship.

Vickers, who is currently majoring in business administration, was presented with the award during the men's basketball Division II Elite Eight Banquet in Evansville, Ind.

The Elite 90, an award founded by the NCAA, recognizes the true essence of the student-athlete by honoring the individual who has reached the pinnacle of competition at the national championship level in his or her sport, while also achieving the highest academic standard among his or her peers. The Elite 90 is presented to the student-athlete with the highest cumulative grade-point average participating at the finals site for each of the NCAA's championships.

The Bulldogs will square off against Minnesota State in the NCAA Division II Elite Eight on Tuesday (March 26) with tipoff for the national quarterfinal round contest set for 7 p.m. (ET) at the Ford Center in Evansville.
