Ferris State Earns Runner-Up Honors At Midwest Fall Regional

Big Rapids, Mich. - The Ferris State University men's golf team earned runner-up honors at the Midwest Fall Regional, which concluded play on Tuesday (Oct. 10) at the Country Club of St. Albans in St. Albans, Mo.

The Bulldogs posted an 888 team score for the 54-hole competition, finishing at +24 for the three rounds of action. FSU came in only four shots behind team champion Tiffin, which tallied a score of 884 in the event.

FSU shot a 293 figure in round one and a 299 total in round two play on Monday before coming back with a 296 effort in Tuesday's final round. Host Missouri-St. Louis took third place (893) with William Jewell (Mo.) fourth (899) and McKendree (Ill.) fifth (901) overall.

A total of 18 schools from across the region competed in the tournament on the par 72 course measuring 7,005 total yards.

Individually, FSU's Caleb Bond placed sixth overall with a 219 score. He shot a four-under 68 in round one followed by a 77 in round two and a 74 in the final round.

Behind Bond was Nathan Kraynyk in a share of seventh place at 220 for the three rounds. Kraynyk carded a 75 in the first round before posting a 74 in the second round and a one-under 71 in round three.

The Bulldogs' Adam Arif Madzri and McCoy Biagioli both finished tied for 24th with 227 figures each. Madzri carded a score of 75 in both the first and third rounds with a 77 in the middle. Meanwhile, Biagioli shot a 75 in the first round and finished with a 76 in each of the two final rounds.

Finally, Zach Koerner rounded out the lineup in a tie for 27th place overall with a 228 total. He shot a 77 in the first round, an even-par 72 in round two and closed with a 79 on Tuesday.

The Bulldogs will wrap up the fall portion of the schedule on Oct. 16-17 at the Doc Spragg Fall Invite hosted in Findlay, Ohio.
