Bulldog Men's Golf Sits Tied For Fifth After Day One At Doc Spragg Invite

Big Rapids, Mich. - The Ferris State University men's golf squad opened up day one action at the Doc Spragg Invite on Monday (Oct. 16) in Findlay, Ohio, and the Bulldogs currently sit tied for fifth overall in the field.

The Bulldogs are presently four-under par heading into day two play in the event after shooting +2 in round one and six-under in round two. FSU is tied with Ashland and both schools are only two strokes behind Tiffin and Indianapolis, who are tied for third at six-under.

Overall, Grand Valley State shot 14-under for the day and holds down first place with host Findlay second at -11 after 36 holes of competition. A total of 16 teams are competing in the annual event.

FSU's McCoy Biagioli is tied for seventh individually with a 140 total or four-under for the first two rounds. He shot a 74 in round one before firing an impressive 66 score in the second round.

The Bulldogs' Nathan Kraynyk is tied for 33rd on the leaderboard with a two-round total of 144, shooting 74 over the first 18 holes and a 70 in the second round to come in at even-par overall.

Ferris State's Caleb Bond shot a 145 score for the two rounds with a 70 in the first round and a 75 in the second round for a share of 39th place at +1 for the tourney.

Also, the Bulldogs' Zach Koerner notched a 147 and is tied for 50th in the field at +3 overall with scores of 72 and 75 in the first and second rounds, respectively.

Finally, Adam Arif Madzri carded a 77 in the first round and came back with a 71 in round two for a 148 total, which was good for a share of 57th place at +4 overall.

Final round play takes place on Tuesday (Oct. 17) in Findlay.
