Ferris State Cross Country Teams Returned To Action At Lewis Conference Crossover

Big Rapids, Mich. - The Ferris State University men's and women's cross country squads took part in the Lewis Conference Crossover on Saturday (Oct. 9) in Romeoville, Ill.

The Bulldog men finished 19th overall with the women scoring 20th in a large field of teams from across the country.

In the women's race, FSU was paced by Sydney Kubiak, who finished 95th overall (24:16.2). The Bulldogs' Melanea Strauss came in 113th (24:33.2) with Callie Delaney 120th (24:40.4) and Hanna Loucks 147th (25:00.8) in the field. Diana Candela placed 158th (25:17.1) for Ferris State.

On the men's side, Donis Harris led the Bulldogs by placing 73rd (26:18.8) with teammate Noah Griffith right behind in 74th place (26:18.8). Nathan Alford took 145th place (27:28.8) with Casey Bouman 159th (27:37.4) and Brendan Cairney 165th (27:43.4) in the race.

Ferris State returns to action on Oct. 16 at the Muskegon Jayhawk Invitational in Muskegon before the GLIAC Championships, which are set for Oct. 23 in University Center, Mich.
