Ferris State Cross Country Squads Run Strong At GLIAC Championships

Big Rapids, Mich. - The Ferris State University men's and women's cross country squads came away with strong results at the 2022 Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) Championships on Friday (Nov. 4) in New Boston, Mich.

The Bulldogs placed fifth overall in the women's standings with 153 total points while the men came in sixth with 176 points in highly-competitive fields featuring multiple teams ranked among the nation's top 30 squads.

In the women's championships, FSU was led by Hanna Brock, who claimed All-GLIAC Second Team accolades by placing 22nd overall in a time of 22:36.84.

FSU's Danae Feldpausch placed 27th (22:50.10) with the trio of Sydney Kubiak (23:22.62), Whitney Farrell (23:25.92) and Melanea Strauss (23:28.98) all coming in within six seconds of each other in places 42, 43, and 44, respectively.

The men's squad was led by senior Donis Harris, who took 28th place (25:51.27). Sophomore Noah Griffith took 41st place (26:33.69) with Brendan Cairney 45th (26:36.60), Dan Hardesty 52nd (26:50.25) and Brandon Wirth 54th (26:52.38).

Ferris State will compete in the NCAA Division II Midwest Regional Championships on Nov. 19 in Kenosha, Wis.
