Big Rapids, Mich. - The Ferris State University women's soccer team erased a one-goal deficit to earn a 1-1 draw with the Davenport Panthers on Sunday (Sept. 11) at the Bulldog Soccer Field in Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) play.

Ferris State outshot Davenport 17-8 and had a 5-3 shots on goal advantage in the game, but was unable to crack through the winner after tying the game midway through the opening half.

Davenport jumped in front at 18:45 when Sarah Possett scored from range on a high shot that beat FSU sophomore keeper Darya Mosallaei for a 1-0 DU lead.

Less than three minutes later, Ferris State senior Payton Price scored her first of the year from a sharp angle, rifling a high shot off of Davenport goalkeeper Gabriana Bennecke's hand and into the upper half of the cage. Ferris State freshman Ella Wolf earned her first collegiate assist on the play on a long service up the field to Price.

The Bulldogs had seven corner tries to the Panther's four. In the first half, Ferris State had a 12-3 advantage in shot attempts. In goal, Mosallaei earned the tie for the Bulldogs making two stops. Bennecke made four saves for the Panthers in her second tie of the year.

The Bulldogs will make the trip North to the Upper Peninsula when they take on Northern Michigan on Friday (Sept. 16) at 3 p.m. (ET).
