Big Rapids, Mich. – The Ferris State University women's soccer team played its penultimate regular season home game Friday (Oct. 20) and tied with the Davenport Panthers 1-1 in Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) play.

Ferris State (5-5-4) recorded its second 1-1 tie against the Panthers this season, with the first coming at Davenport back on Sept. 17. In Friday's game, Darya Mosallaei started in goal for the Bulldogs and made two saves.

The Bulldogs got on the board first 2:10 into the second half. Senior Payton Price took a cross pass from freshman Katherine Welch in the box and scored her fifth goal of the season. Welch earned her first assist of the season and extended her point streak to three games.

Davenport answered with their lone tally of the afternoon at 60:55 from Izabelle Olsson. Her first goal of the year came on a free kick to tie the game at 1-1.

FSU had a chance in the box under 10 minutes to tally another goal, but Jessie Bandyk's shot was blocked by a Davenport defender with goalkeeper Baily Gauthier unable to make a play on the ball. The big defensive play from the Panthers forced a tie.

Both teams attempted three corner kicks. FSU had four shots on goal while DU had three. The Bulldogs outshot the Panthers 14-8.

Ferris State will be back in action Sunday, Oct. 22, against rival Grand Valley State University in the Bulldogs' final home game of the regular season. Kickoff is set for 1 p.m. (ET) for the Alumni Appreciation Day contest.
