Ferris State Soccer To Face Host NMU In GLIAC Tourney Semifinals This Friday Afternoon

Big Rapids, Mich. - The Ferris State University women's soccer squad will look to keep its season alive this Friday (Nov. 10) as the Bulldogs battle host and top-seeded Northern Michigan in the 2023 Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) Tournament Semifinals in Marquette.

Ferris State, which was seeded fifth overall entering the league tournament, knocked off fourth-seeded Saginaw Valley State by a 1-0 score on Monday in the quarterfinal round, beating SVSU for the second time on the road in a five-day span.

The Bulldogs and the Wildcats will play the second semifinal contest on Friday at NMU beginning at 2 p.m. (ET). The first semifinal will pit second-seeded Grand Valley State versus sixth-seeded Parkside at 11 a.m. (ET). The winners of both semifinal matches advance to Sunday's (Nov. 12) title contest beginning at 1 p.m. (ET).

All three games from the league tournament semifinals and finals will be streamed live by FloSports.

This season, the Bulldogs battled Northern Michigan twice in a pair of tightly-contested one-goal games, falling 2-1 in Big Rapids before a 1-0 setback in the Upper Peninsula.

The Bulldogs are making their 14th consecutive GLIAC Tournament appearance this season and 16th overall in program history. FSU has now advanced to the conference semifinals nine times in the last 12 years to date, including six-straight years, and won its first league tournament postseason championship two years ago.

The winner of the GLIAC Tournament will receive the league's automatic bid into the NCAA Tournament.
