Big Start To Season For Ferris State Women's Tennis At Davenport Invite

Big Rapids, Mich. - The Ferris State University women's tennis squad got off to a great start on Thursday (Sept. 7) as the Bulldogs kicked off the 2023-24 season at the Davenport Invitational in Caledonia.

Ferris State finished the event with a 8-2 overall mark in singles play.

The Bulldogs got wins from Aimee Reynoso along with Ana Hernandez, Kennedy Dumas, Sophie Daavittila, Parker Nolan, Maria Hernandez, Amelia Laverdiere and Eden Short.

A total of seven of FSU's eight victories came in straight-sets while one of the lone setbacks was in three-set fashion.

The event took place at the Farmers Insurance Athletic Complex and included competitors from FSU, Davenport and Grand Valley State.

The Bulldogs will be back in action Sept. 16-18 at the ITA Regional Championships in Indianapolis, Ind.
